Kimchi Hut: Delicious and economical...

A quick review on this small Korean restaurant in Glen Waverley. Went here after swimming with Risotto Queen and Eyelash Specialist one day, after hearing The Vegetarian and Risotto Queen rave about how great it was. And of course they were right...
The menu was nothing exciting, had all the typical Korean dishes at prices comparable to your standard cheap Korean restaurant in the CBD. But when the food arrived, the flavours were good – quite authentic, almost as delicious as the food I had in Korea!

It’s nothing fancy, but very good nonetheless. Service was efficient, and our food arrived quickly. My bean curd soup was flavoursome, with just the right amount of spiciness to it that I could eat it comfortably. The mung bean pancake was actually different from the usual Jeon we get from other restaurants – it was super crunchy, and so tasty. The ban chan was quite standard.

I would definitely recommend Kimchi Hut for anyone who happens to be in the area (I’d eat here every week if I lived in Glenny!)
Unfortunately, they’re closed on Sundays – the only day where you’ll usually find me on the east side of town. But I look forward to coming back to try everything else on the menu. Many times over.

I’m quite curious about whether the food will be consistently good. Will keep you posted!
